Amanda James is an illustrator and printmaker living in Portland, Oregon. She received her BS in Printmaking from Portland State University in 2011 before traveling down south to obtain her MFA in Studio Art from Louisiana State University in 2014. While honing her skills as an artist and printmaker, she also gained experience as a pre-press digital technician and printmaking instructor.
In 2012, Amanda founded Heck Yeah Prints! Her prints are featured in permanent collections across the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. In 2013 she co-founded the printmaking collective: The Dead Beats of Printmaking, featuring rebellious up-and-coming printmakers across the South. Her recent group exhibitions include Paper In Particular, Columbia, MO; Surreal Salon Six, Baton Rouge Louisiana and End of the World, Portland, OR. Her most recent solo exhibition, Less Class, More Sass! has shown in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Portland, Oregon.
